THE SCENE

There's a great underground music & art scene in Frankfurt which is not hard to find. Your infallible guide is the Thing website.

BEST ALTERNATIVE ART SPACES ("OFF-SPACES")

Go to any of their events or openings and meet everyone. Introduce yourself to Saul Judd at dontmiss & tell him you're with Free Manifesta - he's great. RAUM & IDEOBLAST are official participants in Manifesta 4.

BEST CLUBS

Many of the best nights are temporary, one night parties in outdoor spaces on the edges of town - look for flyers (the basement of the Kunstverein, oddly, is a good place - ALSO OF COURSE RECORD STORES).

KIOSK (best small club - minimal techno - mainly Sunday nights - a long walk home so bring a bike or stay till 5 when the trams run again - see map on website)
ROBERT JOHNSON (bigger club in nearby Offenbach)
ROTARI (in nearby Offenbach)
SPACE PLACE (varied music possibilites)
LOLA MONTEZ (happens irregularly look for flyers at other parties, vinyl shops)

BEST CAFE NEAR THE OFFICE: CAFE METROPOL

Go around the big church (dom) to the right. Outdoor garden, giant milk coffees.

BEST STREET FOR RESTAURANTS & CAFES: BERGERSTRASSE

Subway U4 to Marianplatz.
