FREE MANIFESTA: PROJECTS: REFERENCE

REFERENCE
JENNIFER PICKERING

This is a site specific installation that will take place at the Frankfurt am Main public library. In the library stacks I will create a color installation using bright pieces of paper in a blue green color on one side of the aisle, and a red orange on the opposite side. The paper will fold around three or four books at a time and will be staggered to create a rhythm to be experienced by the patron walking down the aisle in search of a book. The installation will take an ordinary interaction and transform it into a distinct visual and physical experience. The piece combines elements of art(color) and knowledge(library/books) so as to draw attention to art as both a source of information and transformation.
