MOKOMOKO



Artist will be a "KO-GAL"(Japanese high-school girl) and walking around the city. She will stop walking at some points and try to sell her panties on the street. She even tries to take off her panties in front of people if somebody wants to buy it for an expensive price.

This performance took place in New York City in February 2001, and will be brought to Frankfurt by the same artist this summer...

ABOUT THE ARTIST

mokomoko is a New York based artist-curator.

Her self-run organization named "expace[ex-space] projects" have produced some exhibitions and events in New York over the past two years, and now prepares for a new type of curatorial project.

As an artist, she is often interested in philosophical theory of architecture and the relationship between city space and human body. Her work visualizes hidden empty spaces in the city and how it affects on the human body.

Her another interest is a current Japanese sub-culture, such as "Ko-gals", "Adult Children", "Japanimation" and so on... As a Japanese, she often comments on them from an objective perspective through her body works.
